Leaving from Himeville (South Africa), up Sani Pass into Lesotho, via mountain passes and massive mountains onto Katse dam and on to Clarens back in South Africa. 2-3 days recommmended
Short ride with some bends and open road
Nice open road and game on side of the road
Good tar, great scenery, good for cruising, good for knee down stuff
The best mountain passes on great tar
A great mix of rural roads and freeways
The best pass and escarpment drop in Natal
A nice route for a weekend. Depart from Louis Trichardt during the early afternoon and go to Tshipise for the night. Next day travel to Musina, then visit Mapungupwe Nature Reserve, Alldays, Vivo and then back to Louis Trichardt.
This route covers a big area in the former Venda. Few fruit and nut stalls on route and nice views of Soutpansberg mountain.
A nice day trip with a lot of stops for sight seeing.
A nice day route with some exiting stops on the way. Animals on route.
Dullstroom one of south africa's premier fly fishing destinations a great ride out from Pretoria / Johannesburg. Nice town great food.
This is my favourite road! Fantastic corners, great sweeping turns. Crazy speed and very exhilarating. Start in Graskop in the early morning, stop in Sabie for breakfast, shoot to Hazyview and stop at the Hippo Hollow for a beer (only one!) then do the AMAZING Kowyns Pass back to Graskop. Watch out for logging trucks, and banana pickers!
A short run, but exceptional straights and curves for some high speed fun.
Start point is Haenertsburg - use the Glenshiel hotel, it is stunning and clean. You ride past Ebenezer dam on the way to Tzaneen through sub-tropical orchards of fruit and avocado pears, as well as brilliant mountain scenery. Drop in at the Coach House Inn for the best hand made nougat in Africa (just South of Tzaneen). Albert Erasmus pass on the way to Orighstad is best taken at leisure. Robbers Pass gets really tight towards Graskop, but enjoy Kowyns pass going down to Hazeyview. Through WHite River and Nelspruit, you the New Pass on the road to Barberton which you definitely must take at the highest speed you can manage.
