Day ride
A long a scenic ride through long winding country backroads. Lots of high visibility passing zones 'hint hint' no police presence... 'HINT HINT'
Just a fun run into SC.
Nice ride through the country. Lots of open roads. Few places to stop though, so fuel up first. Lots of road construction on 601.
Most of the ride is on the back roads around Monroe.Except for a half mile on 74 west. This ride a quick ride if you do have a lot of time. The beginning and end points are near my house. So feel free to start where ever you want.
Good for a quick lunch ride
Going to try this weekend!
Great road trip for a day out on country roads
Beware of police sitting on the west side of the road in the Woodleaf area. Take it speed limit + 7mph or so and you should be fine for the entire ride. This is a relaxed ride. You really do not want to be going much faster anyway.
Brushy Mountain Road is a little local secret. It climbs a mountain as the name suggests and along they way there are swerves and some very sharp curves. This run will give the biker everything...from places to test his cornering abilities to straight stretches to get up to speed fast. At some vantage points there are some places you can see long distance scenery from the mountain top. Also along the way you ride through some of NC best apple growing country. Some of these roads are where old timey NASCAR drivers like Junior Johnson learned to drive... sometimes running white lightning in their cars as they ran from the law. For the uninitiated...Wilkes County was proclaimed Moon Shine capital of the world in days gone by.
Couple good places to pull off and admire the view.
A couple nice quiet spots to stop for a beer.
And a few good places to stop to eat.
I usually ride this clockwise. It's harder to get lost. Nice empty roads. Some stretches are quite curvy. Usually can do this whole route without ever having to pass a car. Great way to spend a couple of hours on a weekend morning, especially if you start with the breakfast buffet at the start/finish!
Great jump off point from Concord Mills Mall. Nice ride through the country that passes by Davidson College's beautiful campus. Ends right back at the mall with tons of restaurants or Iron Thunder & Suck, Bang, Blow biker bars right up speedway Blvd.
Apart from the occasional pothole, this is great.
Short section with some nice corners
Simply excellent
Loads of great corners here
