Hwy 268 north of Hanging Rock : Pilot Mountain - Moores Spring

NC - Rockingham/Caswell/P... > North Carolina > United States > America
September 11, 2015 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Nice scenic ride with some good corners. Road surface is in great condition and traffic is generally light.

Hwy 89 from Danbury : Danbury - Westfield

NC - Rockingham/Caswell/P... > North Carolina > United States > America
September 11, 2015 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

Hwy 89 is a great road with near-perfect road surface, low traffic, great scenery and a mixture of gentle sweepers to some much tighter corners than can (and will) get inattentive riders. Corners are well marked along with \"suggested\" speeds so you have an idea of what kind of corner you are approaching, but still pay attention.
This is a great ride in either direction, whether you just came up Hwy 66 to Hwy 89, or whether you are taking Hwy 89 to ride Hwy 66 down.

NC80 : Devils Whip (North Carolina SR-80S)

NC - Cherokee/Graham/Clay... > North Carolina > United States > America
March 8, 2015 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

You will definitely want to travel this road South to North so you will be pulling uphill in the twisties. This road has lots of elevation change, very tight corners, switch backs etc.
Don't take this road lightly, it contains some very dangerous curves.

Diamondback Loop

Now that 226A has been repaved, this is an excellent motorcycle road if you in the mood for twisties!
226A has very little traffic, and trucks over 30 ft are banned. The 226 (NOT 226A) does have more traffic, including larger trucks, but that road is also wider and more open, allowing for better visibility than that tighter and narrower 226A.

I am a UK resident, I come to the USA for the roads, and to TOUR NOT RACE with my Buell riding friends from Denver,
I can tell you this road is one of the reasons i come to the USA a rollercoaster of a ride, corner after corner after corner, some constant radious corners return (switchbacks) 200 degress and more and NO POLICE to spoil the fun, scenery is outstanding, we also tryed Highway # 296 and 120 to Cody WY, Dead Indian pass,, I can assure you you will not be disappointed, see photos also
ride safe

Stuart to Blue Ridge Parkway Loop

NC - Rockingham/Caswell/P... > North Carolina > United States > America
February 13, 2015 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

You can run this route in either direction, but I prefer to go up Hwy 8, then come back down the mountain via Hwy 58. 8 is a bit steeper grade and a little tighter corners. Either way, however, is a great ride.
Lots of mountain scenery, a few blind curves, but pretty decent on most of them.
There is light local traffic on both 8 & 58. Traffic on the BRP segment is usually light, and speed limit on the BRP segment is 45 and enforced. I've never personally seen cops on 58 or 8 and never been on the BRP and NOT seen a park officer at some point.
Be sure to check out the 3 views around Rocky Knob on the BRP, as well as Mabry Mill. Hwy 58 a few miles south of Meadows of Dan has Lover's Leap, another spectacular view with plenty of parking along the road.

Hampton Road : Clemmons - Advance

NC - Rockingham/Caswell/P... > North Carolina > United States > America
February 13, 2015 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Nice twisty section of road near Winston Salem.
The corners are not knee-dragging twisties, but there are a lot of them on excellent road surface with decent sight around most of the corners.
It's a great road to scrub in new tires on a sport bike or simply get a quick fix for some curves on a lightly traveled road.
(Try to avoid between 4:30 and 6:00 pm as there traffic picks up as people are getting off work.)

Hwy 66 : Hanging Rock State Park

NC - Rockingham/Caswell/P... > North Carolina > United States > America
February 12, 2015 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

The northern section of 66 (twistiest portion) was recently repaved in 2014. They did a pretty cheap job so there is a little bumpiness, but compared to what it was 2 years ago, it's practically perfect. Once you hit the newly repaved section you won't find a straight section of road for more than a few hundred feet at a time.
Corners are NOT all marked, and almost none of them have a 'suggested' speed limit posted. Just because there is no speed marked on the corners absolutely does NOT mean you can take them at the road's over-all posted speed limit of 55 MPH. (at least not and survive)
Lots of blind or at least reduced visibility corners, especially when foliage is on the trees.
