Nice scenic ride with some good corners. Road surface is in great condition and traffic is generally light.
Hwy 89 is a great road with near-perfect road surface, low traffic, great scenery and a mixture of gentle sweepers to some much tighter corners than can (and will) get inattentive riders. Corners are well marked along with \"suggested\" speeds so you have an idea of what kind of corner you are approaching, but still pay attention.
This is a great ride in either direction, whether you just came up Hwy 66 to Hwy 89, or whether you are taking Hwy 89 to ride Hwy 66 down.
You will definitely want to travel this road South to North so you will be pulling uphill in the twisties. This road has lots of elevation change, very tight corners, switch backs etc.
Don't take this road lightly, it contains some very dangerous curves.

Now that 226A has been repaved, this is an excellent motorcycle road if you in the mood for twisties!
226A has very little traffic, and trucks over 30 ft are banned. The 226 (NOT 226A) does have more traffic, including larger trucks, but that road is also wider and more open, allowing for better visibility than that tighter and narrower 226A.
