The A4069 runs from Brynamman to Llangadoc in South West Wales near Ammanford. It darts across open terrain and crosses more of a large hill than a mountain. It's fairly demanding in places and there is fun to be found. It's narrow and fairly twisty. It wasn't really flowing enough for my lardy Sports Tourer, but would be fun on a sports 600 or better still a Super Motard. From Llangadoc head for the Llyn Brianne reservoir or Builth Wells and beyond. The choice is endless. See above a few photos for your enjoyment.
Awesome road over the mountain - watch out for the Welsh ARmy training if the red flag is out
One of the best roads I have ever ridden. Great road surface, great corners, no traffic at all and spectacular scenery. What else can a biker ask for?
Very good road ... If heading North out of Otley this road is an excellent alternative to going past the Sun Inn.
A good combination of straights and corners ... some well sighted some not and nice elevation changes. A few opportunities to really get cranked over ... be careful of the odd slow moving vehicle and side junctions though.
Awesome ... awesome road!
Can be used as part of a circular route taking in the
Brilliant Stokesley to Helmsley Road also.
Flat out riding for 12 miles along the moor ridge ...
nice exposed well-sighted corners, no trees to it and
plenty of elevation change to keep you interested. I've
ridden it loads of times and not once seen any police
presence. There are lots of sheep knocking about but they
don't mind you flying past at full revs .... always worth
keeping an eye out for them wondering onto the road though!
Because it is so exposed it can get a little windy but you
usually find if it's windy in one direction it's ok in the
opposite direction.
Nice pub halfway along for a drink if you fancy it.
