Monaro Highway : Cann River - Bombala

Victoria > Australia > Oceania
July 16, 2014 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Riding from Cann River to Bombala. Very nice scenery and was a good road when I did in 2012. Some lovely corners and basically a very nice ride.. Didn't see many cars or any cops on the ride.

Mount Coot-tha : Brisbane

Queensland > Australia > Oceania
November 22, 2010 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

With no hazards and some great turns in forest surroundings, the proximity to Brisbane makes this a really good ride.

Summerland way

New South Wales > Australia > Oceania
October 17, 2012 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

This is a part of the summerland way i enjoy. Leaving Kyogle, you head towards the QLD border. Going thru some nice scenery, there is some good fast corners and nice straights. You then travel up to the Woodenbong/Beaudesert turn off. A good road to travel if you have come from Murwillumbah to Kyogle and want to head back towards Brisbane.

Lions Road : Rathdowney - Wiangaree

Queensland > Australia > Oceania
April 3, 2007 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.3

This is a sealed 45 km shortcut across the border ranges that is substantially maintained by funds generated by the local Kyogle and Beaudesert Lions Clubs. As such, it has some very bumpy sections and potholes may remain unfilled for some time. This road is thin with quite a few unsurveyed corners, dips, rises, wooden bridges, cattle wandering between the cattle grids (leaving their deposits on the road) and creek crossings. Regardless of all this, the Lions Road is popular for its tight endless corners and as an interesting and scenic shortcut between Rathdowney and Kyogle. To start at the northern end, either turn left off the Mount Lindsay Hwy about 6.5 km before Rathdowney onto Innisplain Road (and travel south for 6.1 km); or head east out of Rathdowney on Running Creek Road for 3.0 km then turn right at 'T' to head south. It is then about 20.7 km to the state border crossing where there are donation tins located to each side of the road (to help with maintenance costs). The road travels through the rain forest, over the hills, along various creeks, and also is aligned closely to the interstate railway. A turnoff 2.2 km south of the border crossing takes you a hundred metres or so to a lookout that makes a good rest stop with a view of the border railway loop below. The marked end of this route is 18 km north of Kyogle (3.7 km north of Wiangaree) along the Summerland Way.

44 / Bruxner Hwy : Casino - Tenterfield

New South Wales > Australia > Oceania
March 28, 2007 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

This 126 km ride along some great twisties and lovely sweepers travels from the Richmond River valley up the Great Dividing Range onto the New England Tableland. Fully sealed, it includes some blind corners and good surface most of the way, as well as a couple of really bumpy corners too. Care is required on parts of the twisty sections with some off-camber corners. Experienced riders will really enjoy a fang, whilst less experienced and average riders should take some sections easily. For a longer ride, start another 64 km to the East in the beautiful small town of Bangalow. Start with a full tank as there is no (or little) fuel between Casino and Tenterfield. A good half-way rest stop, just before the route rises up through the twistier sections is at Drake - with public toilets, park and a pub. Tenterfield has some attractions too.

Snowy River Way

New South Wales > Australia > Oceania
October 14, 2012 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Head out of Bombala NSW towards Cooma, and turn left into Snowy River way. A beautiful smooth road awaits. Lots of fast corners and straights, combined with the great road surface is beaut. Exactly 40km into the ride you come to a right turn, which will take you into Cooma. This road, not so well tared as the Snowy River way, but is still a great ride, with plenty of straights and fast corners.
We loved it so much, we fueled up in Cooma and went and did again.
Beware, there is the occasional cattle crossing areas, but plenty of time to see any hazards. Hardly any vehicles when we were there.
