CM210 Molina de Aragon - Cuenca

Communidad Valencian/Murc... > Spain > Europe
January 5, 2011 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.5

Did this route on new years eve 2010. Early morning. Completely deserted. Lots of lovely bends around the mountains and through the valleys. Not a fast route through Spain due to the many bends many of which are quite low speed. But amazing scenery. Well worth a detour for this.

N623 : Santander - Burgos (Riding with General Custer and the Red Injuns)

Asturias/Cantabria > Spain > Europe
January 17, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.4

A really good selection of tight hairpins, fast sweepers and a nice view as the road rises up from sea level to around 1000m. As this is rural Spain, you may need to pay some attention to farm animals straying into the road (although I didn't see any on the way). This route is ideal if you've just got off the ferry from Santander.

Ci601 / M601 / M614 : Segovia - San Ildefonso - El Escorial ( Segovia area to El Escorial via old road )

Madrid/Castilla-La Mancha... > Spain > Europe
July 8, 2008 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.5

I think this is the highest mountain pass in the area, just over 1,900m and it gets quite cold at top, nice views when its not misty.

The road surface is good & wide, and as you can imagine with a mountain pass lots of corners. Was quite wet when i went along here in late May 08 but still worth it for scenery.

Places of interest on the way is (not sure of name, in English is something like Valley of the Dead) Church where Franco is burried (bit of a controversial place, in Spain, as Franco built it using soldiers captured during the civil war, a lot of whom died making the place) then onto El Escorial, burrial place of all Spanish royalty, impressive building.

CL-603 : Fuentespina - Segovia

Madrid/Castilla-La Mancha... > Spain > Europe
June 16, 2011 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Great scenery that changes along the entire route. The roads are mainly straight, the epic ones that go to the horizon in a heat haze. There are some wonderful views along the way with plenty of great little towns and villages that you go through which are a delightful. There are also a number of old ruins along the way which can be seen from the road. This isn't a riders road, but you'll be happy to take a relaxing ride and just enjoy sights and smells a long the way.

A496 : Rhiwbryfdir - Maentwrog

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
June 1, 2011 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.0

A good link road to use that's better than the A470. Recently resurfaced, with mostly fast bends. Brief but quiet enjoyable.

B4391 : Ffestiniog - Arenig

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
June 1, 2011 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.7

A great road, with good surface, and not much traffic, be aware there are some fairly blind tight corners, but nothing nasty. Best ridden east to west for one of the most outstanding views you'll see in north Wales, though only if the weather is clear. As must ride road.

B5109 / B5420 : Llanynghenedl - Menai Bridge (Lovely twists and turns)

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
May 30, 2011 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.5

A great road, quiet, consistent and generally good quality. There's hardly a straight section anywhere, mid high hedges mean that distance visibility isn't great at times, but as long as you don't push your lucky there will be no surprises. Easily the best road I've found on the island of anglesey.

A548 : Abergele - Llanrwst

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
January 1, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Some nice sweepers through scenic Northern Wales, good road surface. Watch out for birds, animals straying into the road.

A4086 : Capel Curig - Llanrug - Caernarfon

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
January 1, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.9

Fast sweeping route with great views but can be quite touristy at the wrong time.

A4085 : Beddgelert - Garreg

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
January 2, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Great tight and twisty but very short section across the Snowdownian Mountains. This stretch, also known I believe as the "Pass of Aberglaslyn" consists of several wicked bends in quick succession. Can be a little busy with tourists but great if it isn't, road surface not perfect though.

A5 : Bangor - Betws-y-Coed

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
January 1, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.6

A varied and undulatig ride through some great scenary. Road can be quite busy as it is a major A-Road. Dil's Diner used to be a good place to meet, but I haven't been there that recently

NW Anglesey - SE Anglesey

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
August 27, 2010 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.5

This route has it all. Mostly national speed limit, constant twisties, as you ride toward mount Snowden in the distance. The best way to cross Angelsey. Then ride it back the other way to Holyhead for twice the fun.

Treadurr Bay

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
August 26, 2010 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.3

A lovely technical route, lots of twists and turns down a national speed limit route. Some parts open up where you can make progress to the speed limit with gusto.

A487 Maentwrog to A470

North Wales > United Kingdom > Europe
March 19, 2011 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

A short and curvy road that should be added to any route in the area. You'll enjoy it on any kind of bike. Unfortunately there can be a bit of traffic to slow you down, and with only a few overtaking spots, it can get frustrating. But then it's so short you could easily ride up and down it a few times, before continuing on your way.
